Johnsonville 24 (24) - 36 (15) West

On a nice winter's day and in front of a large crowd (almost 100) the might that were the West’s and Johnsonville coaches/parents rugby teams met at Helston Park, the home of Johnsonville RFC, for what might be the first of an annual fixture. It was a very good game, played in the right spirit and included good performances all round.

West’s took an early lead but shortly after half time were trailing Johnsonville by about 4 tries to 2. However, with the wind behind and playing down hill (by about 2 degrees), West’s regained the lead with three more tries and ran out winners by 36 points to 24. A big thank goes to all those that ‘dusted off’ their boots (once they managed to find them) on both teams to make this an enjoyable occasion, to the crowd for their support and of course to the Ref who thankfully made each quarter slightly shorter than the previous one.
